Austin Simmons

PE

Principal | Technology Director

Austin Simmons once had a construction co-worker tell him to “use your brain instead of your body and become an engineer.” Taking an inventory of his strengths in science and math and his lifelong enthusiasm for drawing buildings, he pivoted toward the field of architectural engineering.

Austin started his career at ME in 2001 and today he is a technology principal in the Denver office and lead engineer for technology integration services, community master planning, and dry utilities planning and coordination work. He is responsible for managing the project team, system design, and construction administration specifically to telecommunications infrastructure master planning and coordination.

Austin is a specialist in the design of technology systems with experience in communications support structures (raceway), communications cabling (copper and fiber optic media), security, IT, Wi-Fi, DAS systems, electrical systems, and utility service coordination.

His keen interest in building systems has let him travel the globe and share the adventure with a team whose efforts become buildings around the world.
