New interconnected facility centralizes athletic programs

The $156 million, 212,000 SF Champions Center combines all University of Colorado Boulder athletic departments into one facility. The Center provides student athletes with top-of-the-line amenities and resources, including new training areas and locker rooms, team lounges and dining areas, administrative offices, three levels of subterranean parking, and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of Folsom Field and the Boulder Flatirons.

The Center features the Indoor Practice Facility, a 109,000 SF, net zero energy facility with an artificial turf football field and a six-lane, 300-meter track. Also housed within the Center is the state-of-the-art Sports Medicine and Performance Center that provides medical offices, imaging services, and rehabilitation space. Adjacent to the Indoor Practice Facility is Franklin Field, a 106,000 SF outdoor grass practice field.

The project also includes renovations to the 38,000 SF Dal Ward Athletic Center, which provides an Olympic Sports Training Center, new locker rooms, lounge areas, and an academic support services area.
