Ed Hornfeck
PE, P.Eng., LEED AP, CxA
Senior Principal | Mechanical Denver
Ed Hornfeck has been with ME Engineers since 2006. He brings extensive experience designing mechanical and plumbing systems for sports facilities of all sizes, from community recreation centers to large-scale professional sports and entertainment venues in climates ranging from mild to extreme.
Widely recognized as the firm’s leading authority on ice sheet design, Ed has contributed to the development of dozens of ice rinks throughout his career. His expertise also includes ventilation analysis and the development of ventilation protocols for professional sports venues, helping create safe, high-performing environments for athletes and spectators alike.
For a guy who loved to take things apart to see how they worked, Ed gets the most enjoyment from seeing a concept progress from paper to reality. He loves working on unique projects and the challenge of designing a unique arena mechanical system to a particular architecture and function. One of the most rewarding aspects of Ed’s career is working alongside younger engineers, passing on lessons learned, helping shape the next generation of engineering professionals.
