Tim deNagy
PE
Associate Principal | Electrical Dallas
Tim deNagy’s path into engineering began with a chance encounter on the golf course. After graduating, he worked as a caddie at TPC Sawgrass, home of The Players Championship. One day, he caddied for a group of MEP engineering principals, which led to several interview opportunities and ultimately a position with a Dallas-based MEP firm with an office in Fort Lauderdale.
Tim enjoys his work at ME Engineers because of his passion for sports. He feels privileged to contribute to sports venues, as well as other large-scale buildings, designing electrical systems that last for decades—from professional and collegiate sports facilities to police stations and corporate headquarters. He takes pride in ensuring that every component, from hidden systems to visible elements, works seamlessly to support the people who use them.
A highlight of his career came from a project at his alma mater, Florida State University, where he contributed to a facility that hosts home football games. “No matter how many other facilities I design, knowing that on any given Saturday a FSU home game is happening in something I spent years working on is definitely a professional highlight,” he says.
Outside of work, Tim is devoted to his family and raising his two daughters, focusing on creating a rewarding and memorable childhood through trips, walks, and supporting their activities. He also enjoys reading and golf—perhaps one day sharing the game with his daughters.
