Paul Hillier

CEng

Co-CEO | Managing Director

Paul Hillier started his professional career thinking he would become a naval architect but all that changed when he joined a building services consultancy in central London as a trainee design draughtsman. The senior partner allocated each new apprentice a role within the practice and his role happened to be within the mechanical engineering group so the die was cast.

Paul has been with ME Engineers since 2001. What he enjoys most about his job is working with the building industry’s most creative people and developing design solutions for some of the world’s most iconic buildings. His most rewarding experience to date is his work on the renovation of Wimbledon Center Court. The refurbishment of this landmark building, along with the addition of a retractable roof and world-class sports lighting system, required Paul and his team to apply new engineering design tools and systems selections, resulting in a project that set a new standard for engineering excellence.

Paul’s career accomplishments also include the theatrical. As a child he once performed in the English National Opera production of Richard Strauss der Rosenkavalier at the London Coliseum despite being unable to sing. Rumor has it he got the part because of his beautiful blond hair (it was a few years ago).

When Paul is not working on milestone projects he spends his time enjoying golf, cycling and fishing.
