Mike Day

PE, CxA

Principal | Commissioning Director

Mike is a Principal in the Denver office and leads our Commissioning group. He has always liked to figure out how things work, and by the time he was nine years old had disassembled, painted, and rebuilt his first bike.

He has been a part of ME Engineers’ team since 1990, and he managed the firm’s Vail Valley office for nine years. In that time Mike gained considerable experience in the design of mechanical systems for the high altitude environment and large-scale snow-melt systems.

Mike served as chairman of Denver’s Building Department Mechanical Code Review sub-committee prior to moving to Vail and is a past president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of ASHRAE. Mike has also provided the designs for numerous NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA facilities as well as hospitals, hotels, and high-end residences. He has unparalleled experience in the design of field heating and aeration systems for professional and collegiate facilities.

Mike loves the mountains and is an avid skier and cyclist. His favorite part of his job is “saving the world … one engineering solution at a time.”
