Jeff Sawarynski

PE, LEED AP

Co-CEO | Senior Principal

Jeff Sawarynski is a senior principal and managing director in our Denver office, a creative problem solver for complex projects, and an outspoken supporter of environmentally friendly design.

With an inquisitive mind, strong analytical skills, and strengths in science and math, engineering came naturally to him. Having a father, uncles, and several cousins in engineering-related fields gave him lots of exposure growing up. After spending his high school summers working in Facilities Maintenance and Engineering at a local university, he was naturally drawn to the building design and construction fields of engineering.

At ME Engineers Jeff founded our Environmental Physics Group to seek better and more sustainable MEP design solutions and bring those ideas to reality. He has developed a diverse portfolio of project experience that includes the NHL’s first LEED-certified arena, MLB’s first LEED-certified ballpark, and the first LEED-CS office tower on the west coast. He served as chairman of Denver’s Building Code Review Committee, Mechanical Code Sub-Committee, and was a member of Major League Soccer’s Venue Design Guide committee. Jeff contributed to the FIFA Technical Recommendations and Requirements and was a contributing author for “The CSI Sustainable Design and Construction Practice Guide.” Jeff serves on the Board of Directors, oversees regional operations in Denver, Kansas City, and Houston, and is head of South American operations. He frequently writes and presents on sports facility design trends.

Jeff counts it a privilege to work with some of the most dynamic and iconic owners, architects, and facilities in the world. He most values meeting, working with, and building friendships with some of the most talented people in our industry.
