Ed Hornfeck
PE, P.Eng., LEED AP, CxA
Senior Principal | Mechanical
Ed Hornfeck is a senior principal in our Denver office who began his career at ME Engineers in 2006. He brings extensive expertise in designing mechanical and plumbing systems for sports projects, spanning everything from small community recreation centers to large-scale professional sports and entertainment venues in a wide range of climates, from mild to extreme.
Ed is recognized as our firm’s leading authority in ice sheet design, having played a key role in the development of dozens of ice sheets throughout his career. His experience also includes developing ventilation protocols and conducting ventilation analyses for professional sports venues.
For a guy who loved to take things apart to see how they worked, Ed gets the most enjoyment from seeing a concept progress from paper to reality. He loves working on unique projects and the challenge of designing a unique arena mechanical system to a particular architecture and function. Ed especially values working with the younger engineers at ME, passing on the insights and lessons learned to help guide the next generation of engineers.
