Stamford Bridge Redevelopment
London, United Kingdom
Exciting design challenges included sinking the stadium to reduce light pollution construction above rail routes and MEP integration
Chelsea demolished their previous home at Stamford Bridge to make space for the new 60,000-seat, state-of-the-art stadium. Chelsea’s redevelopment project posed exciting design challenges involving excavation to sink the stadium four meters into the ground in order to reduce light pollution of local residents, the construction of new concourse and circulation areas above existing rail routes, and the integration of the MEP services into this iconic architectural vision.
