MEP design of retractable roof for the home of the US Open Tennis Championships
A retractable roof was added to the 22,500-seat stadium, the world’s largest professional tennis venue. The new $150 million addition solves a challenging airflow dynamics issue associated with the prior free-floating roof by conditioning the interior space to control humidity.
During the two weeks of the US Open Tennis Championship, the ME Engineers team is on-site collecting performance data and managing the indoor climate to ensure a comfortable experience for players and fans.
