Sean Hira
PE
Senior Principal
Sean is a Senior Principal and Director of Electrical Engineering of ME’s Los Angeles office. As the project principal, he leads his team’s collaboration with clients, consultants, and other design team members. His work includes a number of notable LA projects, such as the LAC + USC Medical Center, Staples Center, and the renovation of the historic Griffith Observatory. His expertise lies in the calculation of load, short-circuit, voltage drop, and Title 24 lighting compliance.
Sean has always wondered how things work. He turned his natural curiosity into a career when he decided to become an engineer. His most satisfying projects are the ones that are the most complex and enhance the community-at-large. Sean is an expert in the special requirements of large scale, specialty healthcare and lab facilities and has developed unique solutions to common issues, such as EMF and vibration isolation in labs. His work has broken new ground with the development of techniques that reduce construction and maintenance costs while increasing the reliability of the facility’s electrical systems.
Sean considers ME almost like a second family and he’s most proud of his role as a mentor to the next generation of engineers.
