Darrell Lackey
PE, LEED AP BD+C
Principal
Darrell is a Principal and Mechanical Group Manager with 40 years of experience in technical design and management. With a degree in architecture, early on he stepped into the shoes of a friend who left a mechanical consultancy. There was no turning back for Darrell who was hooked on the challenges of the functional design of building systems. He finds it rewarding to both create an environment in which people comfortably pursue their activities and have a substantial impact on the environment through conscientious design.
Darrell works closely with architects, owners, and contractors in determining initial engineering requirements such as conceptual analysis, space planning, sustainable strategies, evaluation of compared mechanical systems, systems selection, constructibility, installed cost budgets, aesthetic and programmatic compatibility, and sees projects through completion.
With extensive military and LEED project experience he is well versed in complying with AT/FP and sustainability standards and design practices.
