The $100M+ addition will span five times further than the Wimbledon Centre Court Roof and uses an innovative design that allows the tennis complex’s landfill soil to support the weight of the structure.

    This mixed-use sports campus covers approximately 200 acres and includes an 11-court tennis complex and a centre court stadium. The tennis facility is home of the National Clay Court Championships.

    A world class tennis facility built on 52 acres and consisting of a 16,000-seat main stadium, 5,000 and 8,000-seat show stadia, clubhouse court for 3,000, and 13 practice courts. Extensive data infrastructure was designed and television-quality sports lighting provided throughout the courts.

    National Tennis Center Player Area Upgrades

    Flushing Meadows, NY

    This upgrade and expansion of 20,000 sf of player area included locker rooms, fitness facilities and hospitality areas to bring the National Tennis Center facilities in line with those of other grand slam tennis facilities. Sustainable features include low flow plumbing fixtures and high efficiency lighting and lighting controls.

    State-of-the-arts sports complex on 85 acres, consisting of a 27,000-seat soccer stadium, a 13,000-seat tennis stadium, new soccer and tennis practice courts and velodrome and BMX bicycle course.

    USTA Grandstand Stadium, Billie Jean King National Tennis Center

    Flushing, NY

    The new 8,125-seat stadium with the bowl set two stories below grade is part of a $550M realignment and upgrade of the Tennis Center to create more open space and a better player and patron experience. The project includes the emergency generator/power system that serves half of the 42-acre campus.

    Infrastructure Master Plan

    New York, NY

    Assessment of existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure and development of a plan to match available services to proposed expansions and upgrades. Work included projections of future electrical demand and development of alternative means of matching demand to supply including on-site co-generation and alternate fuel chillers. Work of this project includes new electrical services, chiller plants, on-site power generation and the construction of a new campus utility grid to serve new and expanded stadiums and courts.

  • Wimbledon Centre Court Retractable Roof

    London, UK

    The All England Lawn Tennis Club approached this project with the expectation of a world-class design worthy of the venue.  Compounding this challenge was this Grand Slam venue’s use of a natural grass playing surface which required four season sunlight to support grass growth.  ME Engineers addressed the challenge of maintaining spectator comfort while preventing condensation on the grass and other low temperature surfaces.
